TMA Awards
TMA honors one member each year with an Outstanding Physician Award to recognize illustrious careers in medicine. The Association is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding Physician Award, to be presented at the annual business meeting of the TMA House of Delegates. Nominations are due to Amy Campoli by January 2, 2025. Nominations must be made by a component medical society.
Both component medical societies and individual TMA members may make nominations for the Community Service Award and Distinguished Service Award. The Community Service and Distinguished Service Awards are given by the TMA Board of Trustees on a rolling basis.
Community Service Award
This award recognizes persons or organizations outside the medical profession who contribute significantly to the advancement of public health in their respective communities. Nominations are accepted and voted on by the TMA Board of Trustees on a rolling basis and will be presented at a quarterly Board meeting.
Outstanding Physician Award
The TMA House of Delegates presents this award annually to a member physician who has made his or her own personal mark on the profession of medicine in Tennessee and on those with whom he or she has worked. The prestigious award should be viewed as a lifetime achievement award to recognize an illustrious medical career.
Distinguished Service Award
The TMA Board of Trustees presents this award to recognize TMA members for contributions or achievements made during a single calendar year. Nominations are accepted and voted on by the TMA Board of Trustees on a rolling basis and will be presented at a quarterly Board meeting.
