TMA offers a variety of online and in-person programs to help physicians fill continuing education gaps. From brief videos to specialized curriculum to leadership training, our proprietary content helps Tennessee doctors maintain professional licensure and certifications, and improve their competence and knowledge.
MATE Act education course
Prescribers with a DEA license must complete eight hours of education on the treatment and management of patients with substance use disorders before applying for, or renewing, a DEA registration. This one-time training requirement on managing patients with substance abuse disorders is included in the recently-enacted Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. TMA offers a solution for prescribers that fulfills the DEA requirement through an education course.
What makes this offering unique is its applicability to all Tennessee prescribers.
The cost of the course is $299; however, the special discounted rate of $249 is available exclusively through this partnership by using the code TN50 upon registration.
The course will not only meet the DEA’s training requirement, but it will also satisfy the Tennessee licensing boards’ requirement for prescribers to complete a two-hour course on prescribing practices.
Course credit includes AMA PRA Category 1, AANP, AAPA, AAFP, and also qualifies for MOC and MIPS.

CONTROLLED PRESCRIBING
Complete the Tennessee state medical board’s requirement of two (2) CME hours of controlled substance prescribing training in one place with our “Prescribing Controlled Substances in Tennessee” program. MEDICAL DEATH CERTIFICATION COURSE
This training will help you better understand best practices in death certification. We will share why it is important to accurately document the cause of death on the death certificate and how to use your best medical judgment to determine accurate information. It includes two videos featuring State Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Adele Lewis and Deputy State Medical Examiner Dr. Amy Hawes.
The training is divided into two parts:
• Part 1: Medical Examiner Jurisdiction, Cause and Manner of Death, and Death Certification
• Part 2: Guidance for Certification of Disaster-Related Death
