Sections
The Young Physicians Section (YPS) seeks to strengthen the value of TMA membership for early career physicians by creating leadership opportunities that encourage involvement in all facets of organized medicine, including policymaking, governance, and advocacy. The section also equips young physicians with resources to effectively transition into active practice, such as financial, educational, and networking support.
TMA-YPS is open to all TMA members under the age of 40.
GRASSROOTS NETWORK: The Grassroots Network helps physicians strategically leverage their medical expertise into political persuasion to directly influence legislation that affects their profession. Interested in participating? Take a brief survey to let us know what issues matter to you.
DOCTOR OF THE DAY: TMA's Doctor of the Day program provides a unique opportunity to get a first-hand look at the legislative process through one-on-one meetings with legislators. Volunteers spend the day in Nashville working with TMA lobbyists to discuss policy issues of their choice. The program is only open to physicians in full-time, active practice.
DAY ON THE HILL: TMA’s annual policy briefing and lobby day in Nashville connects physicians directly with lawmakers so they can advocate for their patients and discuss major issues affecting the medical profession in Tennessee.
TMA HOUSE OF DELEGATES: The annual meeting gives physicians from across the state an opportunity to gather as a professional group to present and debate policies that affect the practice of medicine and the delivery of patient care in both Tennessee and the United States.
