Proposed Workers’ Comp Rules May Impact Physicians
May 10, 2017
The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation recently issued a rulemaking notice containing substantial proposed changes to the state workers’ compensation rules and regulations. The proposed changes are to the rules for medical payments (medical cost containment program), the medical fee schedule and inpatient hospital fee.
The Bureau will hold a rulemaking hearing on June 9 at 10 a.m. to receive public comments regarding the proposed rules for medical payments, medical fee schedule and inpatient hospital fee schedule.
TMA strongly encourages member physicians and their practice executives to review the proposed rules carefully. There are red-line versions of the proposed rules for medical payments, medical fee schedule and inpatient hospital fee schedule as well as a high-level summary of the changes prepared by the Bureau.
Members who would like the TMA to include any of their comments or concerns in any comments we file should forward them to Yarnell Beatty (Yarnell.Beatty@tnmed.org) as soon as possible. The notice is time sensitive. Any comments must be submitted on or before June 9.
